Add a Product

Purpose

Create a product that can be selected in Easy Charge and used elsewhere in EPD Commerce.

Before you begin

• Confirm that you have product-management permission.
• Prepare the product name, SKU, description, price, and product type.
• If applicable, prepare product images, policy links, checkout custom fields, and a post-purchase redirect URL.
• Decide whether the product requires shipping.

Procedure

Step 1: Open the product form

1. Select Products in the left navigation.
2. Select Create product.

You may instead select Import product from your website on the creation form to populate product information from a product page URL. Review all imported information before saving.

Step 2: Enter the required general information

Complete each field marked with an asterisk:

• Product name — 3–80 characters and must start with a letter.
• SKU — 3–30 lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores. The interface generates a SKU from the product name; review it carefully because it cannot be changed after creation.
• Description — 3–400 characters.
• Currency — currently shown as USD in the verified interface.
• Price — from 1.00 through 999,999.99.
• Product type — Physical product, Digital product, or Other.
• Requires shipping — select this for a product that must be delivered.

Step 3: Choose the product type and shipping behavior

Select Physical product, Digital product, or Other. Select Requires shipping only when the product must be delivered.

Step 4: Review the general information

Review the completed information for spelling, pricing, and SKU accuracy.

Step 5: Upload product images (optional)

Select the + control in Upload images, then choose the files to upload.

• Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, and GIF.
• Maximum size: 10 MB per image.
• Maximum quantity: 12 images.
• At least one image is required if an AI sales channel is enabled for the product.

Step 6: Configure policies and custom fields

Scroll below the image area and configure only the settings needed for this product:

• Product policies — leave off to use the merchant defaults. If enabled, enter valid Terms & Conditions and Returns Policy URLs; both links become required.
• Custom fields — associate checkout questions or data fields with the product. Keep required fields minimal; the interface recommends no more than three to reduce checkout drop-off.
• AI Sales Channels — complete the linked setup before syncing the product to supported channels.
• Post-purchase screen is completed in the next step.

Step 7: Configure the post-purchase screen (optional)

Enable Post-purchase screen to send customers to a custom page after purchase, then enter a valid redirect URL.

Policy and redirect URLs may contain up to 2,048 characters. An enabled section cannot be saved without its required valid URL fields.

Step 8: Create the product

1. Scroll to the top and perform a final review.
2. Select Create product to save and return to the Products area.
3. To enter another product immediately afterward, open the arrow beside Create product and choose Create product and add another.

The creation controls remain unavailable until all required values pass validation.

Step 9: Verify the product

Confirm that a success message appears and that the new product is listed under Products. Open the product and verify its price, description, images, shipping setting, and optional policies.

Troubleshooting

• Create product is unavailable: Complete every required field and correct any validation message.
• SKU error: Use only lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores; confirm that the SKU is unique.
• Price error: Enter a numeric value from 1.00 through 999,999.99.
• Image will not upload: Use JPEG, PNG, or GIF; keep each file at or below 10 MB and the gallery at 12 images or fewer.
• Policy or redirect error: Enter a valid web URL in every required field for the enabled section.
• Unable to access the creation form: Ask an administrator to confirm your product-management permission.

Completion criteria

• A success message confirms creation.
• The product appears in the Products list.
• The SKU, price, type, and shipping behavior match the intended configuration.
